Role Description The Steel Structure Design Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Dammam. This role involves designing steel structures and components, preparing detailed engineering drawings and specifications, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards. The engineer collaborates with project managers, fabrication teams, and other engineers to optimize designs for manufacturability, safety, and cost efficiency. Daily tasks include performing structural calculations, using STAAD, TEKLA & CAD software for modeling and detailing, reviewing shop drawings, and supporting quality assurance during fabrication and installation. The role also includes contributing to design reviews, resolving technical issues, and maintaining accurate documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications Strong foundation in Structural, Civil, or, Mechanical Engineering or related Design Engineering disciplines, with the ability to apply engineering principles to steel structures. Proficiency in steel structures & PEB design. Proficiency in STAAD for steel structures designs. Basic Knowledge of TEKLA software. Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for 2D drafting and 3D modeling of steel structures and components. Experience in Product Design for industrial or structural applications, focusing on durability, safety, and manufacturability. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related field; professional certification or registration is an advantage. Knowledge of relevant international and local steel design codes and standards, and familiarity with fabrication and welding practices. Ability to interpret technical drawings, perform structural calculations, and use engineering software for analysis and design. Effective communication skills, ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, and strong attention to detail and safety. Prior experience in steel fabrication, construction, or industrial projects in a similar role is highly beneficial.
