The Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing spare parts inventory for the company. This role ensures the timely and cost-effective procurement of high-quality spare parts while maintaining strong supplier relationships and aligning with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Sourcing & Purchasing:
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for spare parts.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers.
- Ensure procurement aligns with budget constraints and project timelines.
- Issue purchase orders and track orders to ensure timely delivery.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels of spare parts and reorder as necessary.
- Ensure spare parts meet quality standards and are compliant with specifications.
- Coordinate with the warehouse team for proper storage and inventory organization.
Supplier Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
- Assess supplier performance regularly and provide feedback.
- Develop alternative suppliers to mitigate supply chain risks.
Documentation & Compliance:
- Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions and contracts.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and legal regulations.
- Prepare procurement reports and analyses for management.
Cross-Functional Coordination:
- Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to understand spare part requirements.
- Work with finance to process invoices and resolve payment issues.
- Support projects requiring specialized spare parts procurement.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in spare parts or a technical industry.
- Knowledge of spare parts for machinery, equipment, or relevant technical areas.
