Procurement Specialist

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing spare parts inventory for the company. This role ensures the timely and cost-effective procurement of high-quality spare parts while maintaining strong supplier relationships and aligning with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Sourcing & Purchasing:

  1. Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for spare parts.
  2. Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers.
  3. Ensure procurement aligns with budget constraints and project timelines.
  4. Issue purchase orders and track orders to ensure timely delivery.

Inventory Management:

  1. Monitor inventory levels of spare parts and reorder as necessary.
  2. Ensure spare parts meet quality standards and are compliant with specifications.
  3. Coordinate with the warehouse team for proper storage and inventory organization.

Supplier Relationship Management:

  1. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
  2. Assess supplier performance regularly and provide feedback.
  3. Develop alternative suppliers to mitigate supply chain risks.

Documentation & Compliance:

  1. Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions and contracts.
  2. Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and legal regulations.
  3. Prepare procurement reports and analyses for management.

Cross-Functional Coordination:

  1. Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to understand spare part requirements.
  2. Work with finance to process invoices and resolve payment issues.
  3. Support projects requiring specialized spare parts procurement.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in spare parts or a technical industry.
  • Knowledge of spare parts for machinery, equipment, or relevant technical areas.

Skills:

  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
