We are seeking a skilled Purchasing Supervisor to oversee our purchasing department and ensure the efficient acquisition of goods and services. This role is crucial for managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and maintaining accurate purchasing records. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a solid understanding of procurement processes, and the ability to drive a vehicle for conducting purchases when necessary.


Key Responsibilities

  • Purchasing Management: Develop and implement purchasing strategies to ensure optimum acquisition of materials, supplies, and services at competitive prices.
  • Supplier Negotiation: Select and negotiate with vendors and suppliers to obtain the best terms and prices for materials and services.
  • Odoo Management: Utilize Odoo software for managing purchasing activities, including tracking orders, maintaining inventory records, and generating reports.
  • Inventory Monitoring: Monitor inventory levels and analyze market trends to ensure competitive pricing and availability of goods.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise and manage the daily activities of the purchasing team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Conduct Purchases: Drive to suppliers and conduct purchasing of goods when necessary, ensuring timely acquisition and delivery.
  • Record Maintenance: Maintain complete and accurate purchasing records and reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Performance Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate supplier performance to ensure contract compliance and quality standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to identify procurement needs and priorities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and purchasing software, including Odoo.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes and best practices.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive for purchasing activities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

  • Cost Savings: Track the percentage of cost savings achieved through negotiations and strategic sourcing.
  • Supplier Performance: Monitor supplier compliance with contract terms and quality standards.
  • Purchase Order Accuracy: Measure the accuracy of purchase orders and the rate of discrepancies.
  • Inventory Turnover Rate: Assess the efficiency of inventory management through turnover rates.
  • Timeliness of Purchases: Evaluate the average time taken to complete purchases from requisition to delivery.
  • Team Performance Metrics: Track the performance and productivity of the purchasing team through established goals.
