Travel And Reservation Manager

Job Purpose

To plan trips and arrange Tickets & Hotel Bookings for Top Management Executives and other employees of the company.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare and recommend the Travel Department budget by conducting analysis and preparing data related to specific elements.
  • Monitor the financial performance of the Travel section against budgets so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and rectified promptly and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon
  • Ensure an effective and robust internal control environment over travel, ensuring compliance with AJVA’s standards and adherence to best practices.
  • To ensure that work processes are implemented as designed and comply with established policies and procedures
  • Manage the preparation of timely and accurate reports to meet company and department requirements, policies and standards
  • Maintain strong focus on cost control, continuous process improvement, and traveler satisfaction.
  • Develop and report on key business metrics that accurately measure the company's travel program and supplier performance
  • Use Vendor Management best practices to build a mutually strong relationship with vendors ensuring better and cost-effective services to AJVA.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of vendor contract details to ensure optimum usage of services and cost.
  • Monitor financial stability of existing and potential suppliers regularly.
  • Set agree and achieve annual savings targets without compromising quality of services.
  • Manage the activities and work of subordinates and evaluate their performance by providing formal and informal feedback to ensure that all work within a specific area is carried out in an efficient manner and in accordance with set individual targets
  • Stimulate subordinates and manage the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement
  • Recommend improvements to departmental policies and direct the implementation of procedures and controls covering all areas of Travel section’s activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective services
  • Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the section in order to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance and a responsible environmental attitude


Qualifications

  • 6 - 10 years relevant experience at least 3 years in positions of progressively increasing managerial responsibilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Diploma in Travel Management.
