Job Summary

To deliver and facilitate most radiological procedures.

To diagnose and treat patients using diagnostic imaging examinations like X-rays, CT scans, and MRI scans.

They will prepare patients and equipment for radiology procedures, perform the tests, and maintain the equipment.

They will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team - showing flexibility of shared tasks to ensure that they provide the best quality service in a pleasant environment for both staff and patients.

They will be able to rapidly assess client/patient personality type and respond accordingly to relevant clinical history within time allowed, while also explaining the procedure, gaining informed consent, informing, and advising the client/patient-results procedure and adapting technique as required. Also, they will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the safe operation of the licensee’s radiation protection program.

They will develop, plan, coordinate and manage radiation safety programs, including the implementation of those programs, to ensure the safety of the staffs and patients.

Job Responsibilities 1

OPERATIONAL

Responsible for the daily patients in the general x-ray Services in liaison with the Supervisor to ensure that the department runs efficiently.

To deputise for the Supervisor as appropriate so patients are seen in a timely manner.

To participate in a departmental On-Call rota and to work flexible hours if required to accommodate changing workload patterns across General, MRI and CT sections.

To understand and implement all policies and procedures relating specifically to general x-rays.

To keep up to date with general x-rays development and participate in teaching other staff.

To perform high quality examinations as required by referring Physicians according to the departmental policies and procedures.

To ensure that all patients being investigated receive a high standard of care.

To collect key information from the patient, family, provider, and nurses that are specific to the exam being performed in order to assist the provider in the proper diagnosis.

Job Responsibilities 2

To educate patient, family, or provider as to the extent and detail of each procedure, may including informed consent as well as pre- and- post- procedure instructions.

To accurately analyse the acquired data, record results and produce high quality images for reporting.

To be prepared to train and work in other areas of the department considered appropriate.

To assist in the care of all equipment within the department ensuring that cleanliness is maintained and that all equipment faults are reported immediately.

QUALITY ASSURANCE

To work accurately to maintain a high standard of imaging and keep patient waiting time to a minimum to comply with standards of quality.

 To ensure that monitoring standards provide a high-quality service for patient care, technical performance, and reporting.

To participate in a Quality Assurance programme for equipment and Radiation Protection, maintaining accurate records and reporting problems to the head of department.

Additional Responsibilities 3

To ensure that all necessary precautions according to the codes of practice, Health and Safety, Local Rules and Fire Precaution procedures are observed for the protection of staff and patients.

To ensure compliance with all relevant HSE&E and QM policies, procedures, and controls across the department to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality service standards and a responsible environmental attitude.

To ensure that each medical exposure is justified in consultation with the referring physician.

To ensure that the exposure of patients is the minimum required to achieve the intended objective, considering the relevant guidance levels for medical exposure.

To establish optimized protocols for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, in consultation with the medical physicist and technologist.

To provide criteria to manage the examination of pregnant women, pediatric patients, occupational health examinations and medical and biomedical research.

To be fully aware of the position of fire and emergency alarms, equipment, and protocols.

To attend all mandatory training in accordance with the law and hospital policy.

Skills

Job Knowledge & Skills

• Minimum 5 years of Radiology experience (required)Minimum 2 year in GCC (preferred)

• ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.

Job Experience

RSO qualification (Essential).

A license to practice radiography.

Strong Knowledge of the healthcare radiography industry

Advanced knowledge of protocols regulating the safety of Radiology Equipments.

Comprehensive knowledge of Accreditation Process.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills.

Ability to operate and understand radiographic technology and equipment.

The physical stamina to stand for long periods and operate heavy machinery without assistance.

Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, nights, and holidays.
