Role Description The Mining Technician will support day-to-day underground and surface mining operations, ensuring work is carried out safely and efficiently. Responsibilities include assisting with equipment setup and operation, conducting routine inspections, sampling and recording geological and ore data, and reporting any hazards or maintenance needs. The role also involves following established safety procedures, supporting blasting and extraction activities under supervision, and maintaining clear communication with supervisors and team members. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Mecca, where the Mining Technician will work closely with multidisciplinary teams in a field environment.
Qualifications
- Practical experience or training in mining operations, mineral extraction, or industrial field work.
- Working knowledge of mining equipment operation, basic maintenance, and safe handling of tools and machinery.
- Understanding of safety standards, hazard identification, and compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to read and follow technical instructions, maps, or basic engineering/geological diagrams.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills in a high-pressure field environment.
- Physical fitness and willingness to work in challenging conditions, including underground areas and variable shifts.
- High school diploma or technical/vocational certificate in mining, geology, engineering technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Prior experience in mining, construction, or heavy industry in Mecca or similar regions is an advantage.
